Firefox Slow to Startup

Recently I have found Firefox browser to be annoyingly slow to start up. It was taking 20 to 30 seconds or more to start fortunately I have found a couple of ways to speed up Firefox. I now have it humming and it starts very quickly. No more Firefox being sluggish for me.

Basically here is what I did:

1) Firefox basic settings have it store all of your information and browsing history for 90 days. I reduced this down to 1 day you don’t need any longer than that if you bookmark pages that interest you when browsing.

To reduce the amount of information Firefox stores and stop Firefox from being slow to load Go to Tools in the main menu.

Then Click Options/Privacy and change where it says ‘Remember my browsing history for at least’ to 1 days in the selection area. Click OK and your done.

2) I also downloaded the Vacuum Places Improved addon for Firefox what it does is defragment theĀ  Places database for Firefox and helps with any lag when your typing in addresses etc into Firefox.

Hope these couple of tips help. Phil
